It’s crisp white, yellow and green colors invoke a springtime feeling and as a result make us long for those warm, relaxing evenings on the Cape! We came across the name “Marina” which means “of the sea”. When deciding on a name we wanted to find a vintage sounding name that deserves a comeback, so we went with “Mabel”, which means “loveable and dear” and we think this sugar bowl and creamer jug is just simply loveable in every way!
Those who love silent films may also appreciate the fact that this set is named after Mabel Normand, an inspirational actress, screenwriter and director of the silent film era. She famously said, “I had no president, nothing to imitate, I created my own standard of fun.” And, that’s what we should all do- create our own standard of fun.

Even though we think of tea drinking to be a predominantly English custom, tea has been drunk all across the globe for over thousands of years. Drinking tea with milk and sugar in the West is believed to have started in the 18th Century, and it was the French who introduced the creamer jug.

The 1960s and 70s saw the emergence of the ‘dinner party’, and the rise of the glass scalloped bowl which could be used for holding the exotic new starter dish known as “shrimp cocktail’ or the infamous “Watergate salad” (yes, there was a dessert ‘inspired’ by the Watergate scandal).
Due to the nostalgia factor, we’ve decided to call these glass dishes “Farrah” after Farrah Fawcett, the iconic actress from the hit TV show “Charlie’s Angels”.

The “Grazia” plate is 8.5″ in diameter and features several vibrant yellow lemons and crisp green leaves. You may be surprised to learn that Sicilian lemons are considered by some to be the best in the world and are not only used in cooking but are sought after for medicinal reasons too.
